Weekly Trifecta (Feb. 27)

Here are my three recommended articles of the week.

  1. Steven Wedgeworth, Going on a Bear Hunt: Head Coverings, Custom, and Proper Decorum. The always insightful Steven Wedgeworth tackes the issue of head coverings in 1 Corinthians 11. It doesn’t deal with every question, but it does a great job with what it does cover.
  2. Justin Dillehay, Real Churches Commune with Dead Saints: Hebrews 12 and Our Mystic Sweet Communion. This one began as a sermon point, and then got reworked after a sister in my church died from COVID recently.
  3. Janie B. Cheaney, The Trouble with Perpetual Victimhood. Who knew that teaching people (particularly women) how to avoid violent attack could be construed as blaming the victim? To borrow from the ancient proverb, this is a classic case of trying to prepare the road for your child instead of preparing your child for the road.
